Autumn Glory Weekend part 2

Not only was it a beautiful weekend it was also a weekend that we had Derrick Abbey down..

So that was our last week at Deep Creek Lake, MD. Can't wait to go back in April!

Autumn Glory Weekend at Deep Creek part 1

Turkey dinners, beautiful scenery, huge parades, and fun is what describes Autumn Glory Weekend at Deep Creek. So first the parade:

Ok so if you don't know what this is...its a skunk in a cage that these guys carry around...the purpose of it? I have no idea.

And whats a parade without a gingerbread man? ha
Don't you want to go to this school where they dress comfortably to be in a parade instead of those ugly plain dull uniforms with the most horrid shoes on earth. They look like they're happy!
Ok no idea what these things were but they made me laugh hysterically so hey lets take a picture!

And darth vader? huh?

Oh and we did break tradition...we had ham instead of turkey!! ahh! oh well better luck next year!

Chemistry!

Ok, so I've been taking chemistry at WEC and its been really fun! Its even more fun when you have an awesome teacher! Thanks Mrs. Peretic!

Ok, so these are called wells, and we put different compounds in them and tested them to see if they conducted electricity...yeah fun! The top six are filled, but you can basically only see the blue one.
And then Mrs. Peretic was teaching us this nifty method of learning the periodic table. We got to say its the united states!


This is an experement we did the first week to see how electricity works, I think.
And yes it worked...thats what the bubbles are.
And of course what happens when metal sits in water? It rusts and thats what happened with this wire.

another one of my bf and lab partners, but shes also the mad scientist...lol. She tries to overdo things...but she poured sooo much baking soda into the vinegar that it exploded on to the table and she had to clean it up...:P
another one of our experements...not really sure what we were trying to do but it was really cool!

And this was light salt mixed with water and it like freezes. Its strange but awesome!

And so thats how the first uh...5 weeks have been. And I won't be there this friday, so bethany will have to send me some pictures. Right bethany?

Buckwheat Festival and this past weekend

Ok so two weeks ago was the buckwheat festival in WV. And we went and we watched the parade and looked at the displays and such...

This kid was so adorable...although I wouldn't want to be the guy leading the bull.

These little kids were so cute in their little dresses and suits...and little teddy bears!

Ok..so I was trying to get a picture of the trees but it kept turning out blurry like the picture above...so...
I can't remember how I did this but it looked soo much better

And some looks like berries things...in the pine trees.

So next week will be our last at the lake till next april...:(

I'm sad. Its my favorite place to be...and I'm leaving it! AHH!
